Grusonn Wellness at MOSTI’s Bual Sains 2026
On 7 October 2026, Grusonn Wellness was honoured to take part in the recording of MOSTI’s Bual Sains 2026 podcast, where our Founder & Managing Director, Magnus Mong, shared Grusonn’s journey in medicinal mushroom cultivation, functional food innovation and science-driven wellness.
The session brought together Magnus Mong, Founder & Managing Director of Grusonn Wellness, Puan Nora Mohamed, Senior Vice President, Industry Support Division of Bioeconomy Corporation, and moderator Puan Iza Nurfaisha for a meaningful conversation on science, biotechnology, entrepreneurship and Malaysia’s growing bioeconomy.
Turning Science Into Practical Wellness Solutions
At Grusonn Wellness, we believe science creates the greatest value when it can move beyond the laboratory and become part of everyday life.
Our journey has always been centred on connecting agriculture, research, biotechnology and functional food development.
From medicinal mushroom cultivation to product research and development, we continue to explore how Malaysia’s natural and biological resources can be transformed into practical, value-added wellness solutions.
Participating in Bual Sains gave us the opportunity to share this journey and discuss the importance of turning scientific knowledge into innovations that can create meaningful benefits for consumers, industries and local communities.

From Cultivation to Innovation
Medicinal and functional mushrooms are more than agricultural crops.
They represent an opportunity to create greater value through research, technology and product innovation.
At Grusonn Wellness, our work covers different stages of the value chain, including mushroom cultivation, research and development, ingredient applications and functional food innovation.
By bringing these areas together, we aim to develop products that are not only supported by scientific knowledge, but are also practical and relevant to modern lifestyles.
This reflects our broader vision of helping to strengthen the connection between local agriculture, scientific research, industry and consumers.

Creating Greater Value for Malaysia’s Bioeconomy
Malaysia is rich in biodiversity, agricultural resources and scientific expertise.
With the right combination of research, commercialisation and industry collaboration, these resources can create new opportunities in biotechnology, functional foods and wellness.
The discussion at Bual Sains highlighted the importance of building stronger links between science and industry so that research can move towards real-world applications.
For Grusonn Wellness, this is an important part of our long-term direction.
We believe locally developed innovation has the potential to create economic value, support agricultural communities and contribute to the growth of Malaysia’s bioeconomy.

Beyond Products: Building an Innovation Ecosystem
Our goal goes beyond simply developing products.
We want to contribute to a stronger ecosystem where farmers, researchers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and consumers can benefit from science-driven innovation.
By developing higher-value applications from local biological resources, we hope to support a future where Malaysian innovation can compete on a broader stage while continuing to create meaningful impact locally.
Science That Creates Impact
At Grusonn Wellness, one principle continues to guide our journey:
Science becomes meaningful when it creates real-world impact.
Whether through medicinal mushroom research, functional food development or future wellness innovations, we remain committed to bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and everyday living.
We sincerely thank MOSTI, Bioeconomy Corporation and the Bual Sains production team for creating a platform that brings together science, entrepreneurship and industry perspectives.
We are grateful for the opportunity to share the Grusonn Wellness journey and to contribute to the conversation around the future of biotechnology, functional foods and wellness innovation in Malaysia.
